Location The Royal Children's Hospital, Parkville, Melbourne
Description The Royal Children's Hospital is the major Paediatric Hospital in Victoria and provides services to the Children of Victoria, Interstate and Overseas.

The Operating Suite provides services to accommodate a diverse range of complex paediatric procedures. On average, 1500 procedures are completed a month.

The Royal Children's Hospital is embarking on an exciting chapter in its history with the delivery of a State of the Art 'World Class' Children's Hospital to be completed in 2011.

The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to liaise with our multi disciplinary team.

Previous Paediatric experience is desirable but not essential. This is a demanding busy unit, but if you seek a challenge, this position will provide big rewards.

This role includes shift work, weekend work and on call.

As a professional, qualified, experienced Anaesthetic Technician or Operating Department Practitioner, you will join our multi-disciplinary team of Anaesthetic Technicians, working in theatres where you will rotate through all major specialties.

Requirements for the position should include:
  • Minimum 2 years post qualifying experience
  • All qualifications and training to meet ANZCA Policy Guidelines – PS8 – Guidelines on the Assistant for the Anaesthetist
  • Professionalism
  • Motivation to provide a quality Anaesthetic service
  • Excellent work ethic
  • Team player
  • Registration with Australian Society of Anaesthesia Paramedical Officers
